Trip to Pushpa Gujral Science City and Rangla Punjab
Deptt. of Geography has organized one day trip to Pushpa Gujral Science City , Kapurthala and  Rangla Punjab, Jalandhar on 28/10/2017 for M.Sc Geography  with total 25 students and 3 staff members .The trip journey commenced from BFGI at 6:50 a.m. and reached Science City , Kapurthala by 11:15 a.m. Students have  observed and  learned  lots of new things there. They  enjoyed laser show,3D theatre  and simulator .They learned   science  of  human body  and  its functioning, science related to sports  actions, demo of rock climbing, in Science Emporium ,15 minutes video was shown on global warming and associated climate change in our daily life in Climate change theatre . They also learned ways to minimize emission of CO2, CFC and other green houses gases. Solar system and related aspects were shown in Digital Planetarium .They also watched keenly Museum Hall. Apart from it, students enjoyed Dinosaurs Park and Lake of Science City.

We reached Rangla Punjab, Jalandhar by 6:15 P.M. Students enjoyed lots of traditional articles for eg. traditional utensils of bronze, spinning of cotton, making of clay articles, historical swords ,chairs ,beds etc. and clay statues  showing   “culture of Punjab “ .They also enjoyed traditional Punjabi dinner  and cultural activities inside Rangla Punjab. It is really awesome place to be visited in the evening time. Students have enjoyed and appreciated this place.

Trip to Wonderland (Jalandhar)
Department of History and Political Science had organized a one day trip to Wonderland (Jalandhar) on 5th March 2016. Total 38 students of M.A. History and M.A. Political Science along with three teachers named Ms. Raminder Kaur, Ms. Jaspreet Kaur and Mr. Sukhmander Singh accompanied the trip. Trip started from BFGI campus from 6:00 am and reached Jalandhar at 11.00 am. All the students enjoyed a lot at wonderland. At around 8.00 pm trip reached Bathinda where parents of the students were already there to pick them up. Overall it was a very knowledgeable as well as enjoyable trip for the students as well for the students.

Trip to Kasauli on 8 march 2016
Department of Geography had organized a one day trip to Kasauli on dated 8march 2016. Total 23 students of Msc Ist & IInd along with four teachers named Ram Sharn, Meenakshi Mohinia, Sukhpreet Singh, Babita Gautam accompanied the trip. Trip started from BFGI campus from 6:30 pm and reached Patiala at around 11:30 pm and visited Dukhnivaran Gurudwara sahib and had our dinner. After that second stoppage was Nada Sahib Gurudwara at around 2:30 am in Chandigarh. From there trip left for Kasauli at around 3:15 am and reached there at around 5: 30 am. First place to visit in kasauli was sun rise point, where students enjoyed the morning view and also studied Profiles that is the part of their curriculum and was very excited to see practically what they study in books. Then second place was air force base which is about 4 km from sun rise point. There students had their breakfast and visited Monkey point and had a synoptic view of the Geographical features like valley, various land use and also studied how various features on the face of the earth are depicted in the aerial photographs. From this everyone returned back to the bus stop and visited the famous church of Kasauli. At around 2pm trip left Kasauli and headed back to Bathinda. At around 3:30pm trip reached Pinjore Garden and left at around 4 pm and reached Bathinda at around 9:30pm in the night where parents of the students were already there to pick them up. Overall this a knowledgeable as well as enjoyable trip for the students as well for the students.

Report on education tour of M.A. classes
An educational tour of M.A. history and political science has been organised on March 4, 2016 to March 9, 2016. 36 students from M.A. History and M.A. Political Science were there accompanied by three faculty members Mr. Vijay Kumar, Mr. Amardeep and Ms Virpal Kaur The tour departure from Baba Farid College at 6.30 pm on March 4,2016 and reached Jaisalmair on 5th March, 2016. After one night stay at Jaisalmair the tour reached Udaipur at 5 pm on 6 March 2016. They visited various historical places of Udaipur. On March 8 2016 they reached Mount Abu. There they visited Brahmkumari Ashram and Jain Temple. In the night, the tour started from Mount Abu and reached college at 3.30 pm on March 9, 2016. It was an enjoyable tour.

Industrial visit to Guru Nanak Thermal plant Bathinda
An industrial visit to Guru Nanak Thermal plant Bathinda was organised by the Department of Geography dated 9-03-2016. Total thirty nine students along with two teachers i.e Mr. Ram Sharn and Ms. Meenakshi Mohinia visited the Thermal plant. A guide was also provided by the thermal authority to tell us the working of the thermal thoroughly. First of all guide showed us the exact replica of the thermal plant and through this model she explained the working of the plant. All the students were very curious about the Thermal plant working and raised many questions. Guide told the students that there are four units and for every individual unit there is a separate cooling tower. Students also visited the units and also understand that how electricity is produced, where it is stored, from where the fuel come and how coal is transported to different units within the Thermal Plant. They were very happy to visit the plant and overall it helps them to be aware of the recent development that is happening around them and they were unaware of it initially.

Trip to Rajasthan
A tour from 9th oct to 13th oct 2015 was organized by the Dept of Humanities for the students of B.A. final year and M.A. English. This tour was planned to visit Jaipur and Udaipur. Mrs. Chandni Goyal (Head, B.A. III) and Mr. Jagmeet Singh (Assistant Professor, deptt of Punjabi) accompanied 34 students of B.A. III and M.A. English. Tour was started from the college on 9th oct. In Udaipur students visit city palace, saliyo ki bari, sukharia circle, Partap smarak, celebrations mall. In jaipur students visit Amber fort, Raj Mandir, Jal mahal, Hawa mahal, Jantar mantar, Central museum, bapu bazaar. Students enjoyed movie Singh is Bling at Raj Mandir. On 13th oct. around 2pm reached Bathinda. It was a memorable and enjoyable tour for everyone.

Trip to Rajasthan
A tour from 1st of Oct to 5th Oct 2015 was organized by the Dept of Geography and Economics for MSc Geography and M.A Economics students respectively. This tour was planned to visit Jodhpur, Mount Abu and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. Three teachers from dept. of geography and two teachers from economics accompanied 34 students of geography and economics. Tour was started from the college when all the students reached college in the evening of 1st oct and left the campus at 6:30pm for Rajasthan. In the night after reaching Hanumangarh dinner was served to the students. After completing a night journey of 12 hours tour reached jodhpur on 2nd oct. in the morning and after checking in the three star hotel, taking a break and having a breakfast, left for sightseeing. First destination was fort of jodhpur, students were provided a local guide at every place who briefed them about the history of the place. After spending few hours there and enjoying the scenic beauty of the palace as well as watching the panoramic view from top of the palace that everybody enjoyed, we left for visiting a govt owned shopping complex. Next destination was a museum in Umaid Palace that is a residence of royal family of Jodhpur. Everyone enjoyed museum visit and a vintage car exhibition inside the Umaid Bhawan palace complex. After spending some time there students had few snacks and wished to watch a recent released movie. So the willing students left for a multiplex in jodhpur and others stayed at hotel for rest. In the hotel a DG night was organized by the tour planner for the students and after that they had dinner. On the morning of 3rd oct, tour left for Mount Abu after having breakfast. We saw a Jain Temple along the way and reached Mount Abu in the evening. Students enjoyed rotating ride for watching the sun set, horse riding and boating and shopping at local market. In the evening tour left Mount Abu and having dinner on the way left for Jaisalmer and did a night journey of again 12 to 13 hours and reached Sam sand dunes of Jaisalmer on 4th Oct and check in Kk resorts a camping site in Jaisalmer. After taking rest and breakfast left for Jaisalmer Fort that was situated almost 40 min from sam sand dunes. After fort visited Ghost town and came back to the camping area around 6pm. In the evening safari ride was organized for the students to see sunset from the sand dunes. After enjoying safari ride students returned to the camp and enjoyed the performances of folk artists i.e Kalbeliya dance and authentic Rajasthan dinner. After enjoying a night at camping site next day ie. on 5th oct tour left for Badhabagh in Jaisalmer. Before reaching Badhabagh visited wind mills and next spot was Nakki lake where students enjoyed boating and after that around 3:30pm left for Bathinda via Bikaner where at around 8:30pm everyone had dinner and bought Bikaner sweets. On 6th Oct. early morning at around 6am reached Bathinda. It was a memorable tour for everyone where students got an opportunity to see diversity of nature and economy in one area. On one hand there was royalty and on another there were people living from hand to mouth. Students were so surprised to see a very well developed road system and well connected Rajasthan. They noticed the varied economic activities of the region and got to see the geological variation of the Aravallis. On the whole it was a knowledgeable as well as enjoyable tour for the students.

Trip to Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi
The department of humanities (PG) organized a tour for students of M.A. I and M.A. II (Economics and English) to Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi from 10th April 2015 to 11th April 2015. There were 26 students (10 students of Economics and 16 students of English department) in the tour. Four staff members, Mr. Davinder Singh (Agriculture Dept.), Ms. Chandni (Dept. of English) Mrs. Harpinder Kaur (Dept. of Economics), Ms. Parveen Rani (Dept. of Economics) went with students. The tour started at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning. They reached Wagah Border in the evening. They enjoyed a lot over there. Then they visited Trillium Mall. In the night, they had a stay at Golden Temple. Next day, they started for Sultanpur Lodhi and spent 2-3 hours there. Then they started for Bathinda and reached Bathinda at 6:00 p.m. in the evening. Overall, it was a very memorable and enjoyable trip. Students enjoyed very much.

Trip to Kullu Manali
The department of humanities (PG) organized a tour for students of M.A. I and M.A. II (Political Science and History) to Kullu Manali from 6th March 2015 to 9th March 2015. There were 42 students (31 students of Political Science and 11 students of History department) in the tour. Four staff members, Mr. Amardeep (Dept. of Political Science), Mrs. Harmeet Kaur (Dept. of History), Ms. Parveen Rani (Dept. of Economics) and Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur (Dept. of English) went with students. The tour started at 9:00 p.m. on Friday morning. Next day, they reached Manikaran Gurdwara Sahib early in the morning. They enjoyed a lot over there. On the second day in the afternoon, they reached Kullu. There they enjoyed rafting. After that, they started for Manali and reached there in the evening. On the third day, they visited Solang valley and enjoyed the snowfall and other rides. In the evening, they started for Bathinda at 9:00 p.m. and reached Bathinda at 6:00 p.m. in the evening. Overall, it was a very memorable and enjoyable tour. Students enjoyed very much.
