World Consumer Rights Day on 15th march, 2022

Faculty of Business studies organized s session on World consumer Rights Day on 15th march, 2022. World Consumer Rights Day is an annual occasion dedicated to highlighting the power of consumers and their rights for a fair, safe and sustainable marketplace for everyone.

The session was started with the warm welcome of the resource person (President District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, Bathinda). Faculty of Business studies organized poster making competition under the theme consumer rights on this day. Students of different streams participated in the event.

The students expressed their views and thoughts about the Consumer Rights day by drawing, writing slogans and quotes. One could see and feel the enthusiasm that the students had in their presentation. This activity kept the student engaged and it was organized to explore and encourage creativity in students and offer them a platform to showcase their skills. It inspired them to think and work creatively in order to promote artistic excellence.

Mr. K.S warring said that consumers must be well aware about their rights. A responsible person can aware many other persons.  Although in India awareness has been increasing yet there is need of more efforts and programs to make each and every person aware about it. Colleges must arrange these types of programs every year.

Mr. K.S Warring honoured the winners of poster making competition. Gurpreet Kaur student of BA 2nd Year got first position, Anuj student of B.com final year grabbed second position and Ridhi Honda student of B. Com Final year got third position

In the end Dr. Sachin Dev (Principal BFCMT) Ms. Neetu Singh (Dean Faculty of Management & Commerce) presented vote of thanks to the resource person and appreciated all the students. On the whole, it was an inspirational and very informative session.  

One Day Seminar on National Youth Day on 12th January, 2022

Department of Management organized one day seminar on National Youth Day on topic Youth and Social Responsibilities for the students of Baba Farid College on 12th January, 2022 through Microsoft Teams. This session was organized in order to enhance the knowledge of students regarding the importance of the day. This day was celebrated to mark the birthday of Swami Vivekananda.

The session was started with the warm welcome of the resource person (Jagjeet Singh Maan, Retired state Director, Nehru Yuva Kendar Sangathan, Himachal Pradesh) by Ms. Pavneet Kaur (Head, Department of Management). The keynote speaker started the session with imparting knowledge of principles of Swami Vivekananda. He told the students about the way how they could make life great by adopting and implementing the Swami ji's principles in their real life.

He said Swami ji as Youth Icon and discussed regarding the responsibilities of youth today. Also, he motivated the students by giving various examples of Swami Vivekananda and threw light on the different stages/levels of human's life. He described vital points to the students such as sharing of happiness with others, help the needy people, avoid negative people, always speak truth and stand with the truth, contribution in the healthy life of family, society and nation, think before taking critical decision, follow rules and regulations in life, giving respect to elders and many more. He explained about positivity and described ways of taking things positively in order to live happy life. He also motivated students to do something for society by giving examples of social workers & social institutions.

Students asked many questions. In the end Ms. Pavneet Kaur (Head, Department of Management, BFC) presented vote of thanks to the resource person and appreciated all the students. On the whole, it was an inspirational and very informative session.

One Day Workshop on Campus to Corporate: Making Transition - Attitude & Etiquettes

Department of Management in collaboration with Placement Cell of Baba Farid College organized One Day Workshop on Campus to Corporate: Making Transition- Attitude & Etiquettes for the students of BBA on 24-12-2021 in college campus. In this session, different ways and methods were discussed with the students to explore Interview Rounds.

The session was started with the warm welcome of the resource person (Monika Kashyap, Managing Director, Infotechmon Private Limited). Firstly, she explained about rounds which are to be conducted during interview sessions i.e., Aptitude round, GD round, and HR round and last is Interview solo round. Then, she imparted the knowledge about difference between Resume and CV.

After this, she describes about various techniques, how to give introduction so that interviewer can be impressed with introduction. Then, she handed over mic to Mr. Sanjeev Kapoor (HR Manager). He introduced about their company i.e., ITM. He also explained about the HR Department about roles played by the department in company and also a few words on GD session. He also shared a few words on various departments in company as well as industry.

Students had many queries and they got their doubts cleared. In the end Ms. Pavneet Kaur, (Head, Department of Management, BFC) presented vote of thanks to the resource person. After that, Dr. Pardeep Kaura (Principal, BFC) congratulated and appreciated the whole business studies department for this wonderful initiative. On the whole, it was an interesting and very informative session.

Speech Competition on Women Empowerment on 17-12-2021

In order to brush up the oratory skills of the students and understand the role of Women empowerment, the Department of Management in collaboration with women development cell of Baba Farid College, Bathinda organized an inter-departmental speech competition on the topic ‘Women Empowerment' on 17.12.2021.

Ms. Neetu Singh, Dean (Faculty of Management & Commerce) was the chief guest of the event. On the behalf of the department, Mr. Simranjeet Singh proposed a formal welcome to the chief guest, Heads of various departments, Faculty members and students. He also formally introduced and welcomed the judge for the event, Dr. Jatinder Gaba.

Empowerment is a very wide term and to each his own. The general idea of empowerment however is to include others who are often neglected in the decision-making process. In this case, inclusion and acceptance of women in such roles is empowerment. We cannot all succeed if half of us are held back, can we? Women Empowerment has always taken as a most debatable issue in this male dominating society. The main purpose of this session was to address the Women Empowerment where some students given their viewpoints as women are better judge than men as they manages family as well as businesses simultaneously. Many other students also participated in the speech competition and given their views and opinions on this. Ms. Amanpreet Kaur (BBA IST year) won the competition.

Ms. Neetu Singh congratulated the winner and all the participants for sharing incredible ideas. She also motivated them to participate more and more in the upcoming events. Ms. Pavneet Kaur (Head, Department of Management) proposed a formal vote of thanks to the chief guest, judge, Heads of various departments, faculty members and students for sparing their time for the competition.

Employability Enhancement Program on 17-12-2021

Department of management in collaboration with Placement cell Organized Employability enhancement program for students of management and commerce on 17-12-2021.

Ms. Amrit tagger( Assistant Professor in English) evaluated the students. she took personal interview, Group Discussion of those students who gave their names for campus placement. The students were judged on various parameters including relevance of ideas, confidence and communication skills.

During Group Discussion, the students had different opinions but they were tolerant towards each other's views and that successfully resolves the purpose of the activity. Such activities also focus on the inter-personal skills of the students and also focus on the development of their perspective. After Group Discussion, Personal interview conducted by Ms. Amrit tagger. She told the students how they can improve the PI and also explain the ways to students for improving their communication skills.

Collage Making Competition on 21 oct, 2021

Department of Management in collaboration with cultural club, Baba Farid College Organized Collage Making Competition on 21 oct 2021 The theme for the competition was Make in India. The students were briefed about the significance of Collage, which is a technique of an art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole. A collage may sometimes include magazine and newspaper clippings, ribbons, paint, bits of colored or handmade papers, portions of other artwork and so on. The competition started at 11:30 a.m. All the participants brought the newspapers, magazines, scissors and other raw materials and grabbed their seats. The time allotted was one and a half hour. Participants were given ample opportunities to showcase their creativity followed by the theme. All the students participated enthusiastically along with competitive spirit.

The students were judged by Dr. Jatinder Gaba. The criteria of judgment were Creativity, Theme and Presentation. Ms. Kanika (MBA 1st year student) won the competition. Ms. Pavneet Kaur (Head, Department of Management) Congratulated the winner and all participants.

Debate Competition on E- Learning on 16-12-2021

Department of Management in collaboration with cultural club organized Debate competition on E- learning- pros & cons on 16-12-2021. E-learning is certainly “having its day.” It seems as if everyone, from primary school students through corporate employees, are receiving this learning delivery format, from computer-assisted and enrichment activities for school-aged learners to more formal training among work forces. The debate helped the students to think critically and share their views on the given topic.

The Debate initiated by girls whereas it was ended by boys. Debater Diljeet said that E-Learning allows participants to “replay” content as needed, in order to be certain that they master what has been taught. Learners can often have greater flexibility of the times they access their learning modules and on what devices they choose to use, fitting them into their schedules more suitably. Jain said that There are some learners who just want a real live person in a classroom with whom they can interact as necessary, immediately. Having to wait to ask questions. Many other students also participated in the debate competition and given their views and opinions on this. Diljeet Kaur student of BBA 1st year grabbed 1st position in this competition At the last, Ms. Pavneet Kaur (Head, Department of Management) appreciated all the students for the same. Afterwards, Dr. Pardeep Kaura (Principal, BFC) congratulated and appreciated the whole department for this quality initiative. On the whole, it was an interesting and informative session.

One Day Seminar on Values of Human Rights on 10-12-2021

Department of Management in collaboration with legal literacy club of Baba Farid College organised One Day Seminar on Values of Human Rights for students of BBA on 10-12-2021. The key note speaker of this session was Mr. Sajjan Kumar (Head, Department of Political Science, Baba Farid College, Bathinda). The session was started with the warm welcome of the speaker by Ms. Vartika. Mr. Sajjan Kumar started the session by focussing on the need and importance of human rights in a citizen's life. He discussed about history and evolution of human rights in India. He threw light upon French revolution, American revolution and then about universal revolution for bill of rights. Further, he explained about fundamental rights of citizens of India. Further he explained all the rights such as Right to Equality, Right to Freedom, right against Exploitation, Right to Freedom of Religion, Cultural & Educational Rights and Constitutional Remedies, in detail. Students asked questions “Why Right to Property was deleted from the fundamental rights? What are the differences between negative and positive rights?, Are these rights applicable only to citizens of India or foreigners also?,” and many more. The speaker cleared their doubts regarding the same. In the end, Ms. Pavneet Kaur, (Head, Department of Management) presented a vote of thanks to the speaker. Mr. Pardeep Kaura (Principal, BFC) congratulated and appreciated the whole department for this quality initiative and an interesting and informative session.

Expert Talk on Earn While Learn on 22-10-2021

Department of Management in collaboration with Placement cell of Baba Farid College organized an Expert Talk on Earn While Learn for the students of BBA & B.com on 22-10-2021 in college campus. In this session, different ways and methods of earning money were discussed with the students to explore future avenues.

The session was started with the warm welcome of the resource person (Mr. Ajay Verma, Assistant Regional Manager at Star Health and Allied Insurance Co. Ltd.). Firstly, he explained about the several types of insurance such as life insurance, general insurance and health insurance in accordance with GOI (Government of India). Then, he imparted the knowledge about health insurance and said that a very few people (approx. 13% population) were there who had health insurance, because many people do not have enough information about health insurance.

After this, he described about Star Health and Allied Insurance, who has tie up with various hospitals and also provides cashless services to customers. Then, he explained whole procedure and training process to interpret the concept of “Earn While Learn” and also discussed about the required documents. He told the students about IPO (Initial Public Offering) and its time of launching. Moreover, he motivated the students to enhance their job profile and to set life goal for success.

Students had many queries and they got their doubts cleared. In the end Ms. Pavneet Kaur, (Head, Department of Management, BFC presented vote of thanks to the resource person. On the whole, it was an interesting and very informative session.

One day seminar on "World AIDS Day" on 1st December, 2021

Department of Management, Baba Farid College organised One day seminar on "World AIDS Day" on 1st December, 2021. The speaker of the webinar was Sh. Narinder Kumar Bassi (Community Aids Educator Authorized by UNAIDS, State Awardee, UNAIDS Civil Society Awardee). He gets included by world book of Records for contribution in field of service, advocacy & spreading awareness concerning life skills & HIV/AIDS since 1999. Such type of sessions are organised to spread awareness among people especially students regarding symptoms, control and preventive measures of Aids. Seminar was started by warm welcome of our guest. The speaker has initiated this session by describing ways of improving immunity and removing stress by giving practical examples. After this, he told the students about the HIV and awared the students regarding AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. He has given a slogan "Know AIDS, No AIDS", which means that if people have complete knowledge about AIDS, then there will be no AIDS. All the students and faculty members of BBA, BTTM & B. Com actively participated in this session and asked many queries for the same. Moreover, the speaker also told them about the importance of this day. At last, Ms. Pavneet Kaur, Head, Department of Management gave a token of thanks to the speaker. On the whole, it was very informative session for all.

Recreational Tour to Manali, Rohtang Pass & Manikaran Sahib on 29-10-2021

Department of Management, Baba Farid College organized Recreational Tour to Manali, Rohtang Pass & Manikaran Sahib from 29-10-2021 to 02-11-2021 for the students of BBA& BTTM 2nd & 3rd year students. Such types of tour are regularly organized to explore various places and sites for the purpose of enjoyment and knowledge enhancement.

Students of BBA & BTTM enjoyed a recreational tour to Manali, Rohtang Pass and Manikaran Sahib with their teachers. There were total 50 students and 2 faculty members. First day, they visited Mall Road of Manali, Hadimba Temple and in the evening, they enjoyed bonfire. They also had fun at water fall (known as Baror-Parsha Waterfall) after tracking of 3-4 KM. Next day, they went to Rohtang Pass and there they captured unforgettable moments in snow and in the evening, they became a part of DJ night.

Next morning, students have visited Kasol and then went to Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib, which is a famous place of worship for Sikhs. Along with this, students also came across many attractions on the way. Overall, it was a great trip for students as well as for teachers.

Seminar on Formulation of research problem and techniques of literature review - 26 Nov., 2021

Senior Training Manager, EBSCO Information Services Department of management in collaboration with R&D cell organised one day seminar on "Formulation of research problem and techniques of literature review" for Faculty Members and PG students of BFGI on 26 Nov. 2021in main seminar hall. In this session the resource person shared his views about Formulation of research problem and techniques of literature review. The session started with the warm welcome of the resource person Mr. Ritesh Kumar by Dr. Pardeep Kaura Principal, Baba Farid College. Afterward, resource person explained about the formulation of research problems and various techniques of literature review. Total attendance in this session was 91 Faculty members and 173 PG students of BFGI. All the attendees actively participated in this session and asked mainly queries regarding the same. In the end Ms. Neetu Singh Dean, Faculty of Management and Commerce, Baba Farid College presented vote of thanks to the speaker. Overall session was very fruitful, interactive and informative for all.

Seminar on Career Guidance on 11 November 2021

In order to ensure students' orientation towards their future, Department of Management in collaboration with Career Guidance and Counseling Cell, Baba Farid College organized a career guidance session for BBA final year students on 11 November 2021 in main seminar hall. The main agenda of the session was to give an in-depth detail of the career opportunities for the management students after they complete their formal education. The expert for the session was Mr. B.D Sharma, Deputy Director, Career Guidance and Counseling Cell of Baba Farid Group of Institutions.

On behalf of the department, Ms. Vartika student of BBA 5th Sem welcomed the guest speaker and other dignitaries. In his address, Mr. Sharma thoroughly explained about the career opportunities and skill-oriented courses to the students. Furthermore, he highlighted on the corporate jobs for the prospective graduates. He motivated students to focus on their inner strength and he made them realize that the success depends upon hard work not on destiny. The students can definitely brighten their future with their hard and smart work. He supported his address with real life examples and anecdotes which helped the students to relate more with his talk. He clearly laid huge emphasis on positive attitude in work place culture and also in life, in general.

Ms. Neetu Singh, Dean (Faculty of Management and Commerce) proposed a formal vote of thanks. Followed by, Ms. Pavneet Kaur, Head of the Department who accolade the organizers of the event for its success.

Industrial Visit at Prince Textile Mills, Ludhiana

Department of Management in collaboration with Placement Cell of Baba Farid College Organised Industrial Visit at Prince Textile Mills, Ludhiana for the students of BBA. Prince Textile Mills has made a name for itself in the list of top suppliers of Jamawar shawls, embroidered Shawls in India Mr. Amninder Paul, Managing Director welcomed the faculty and students about the entire process of manufacturing Shawls. He also explained the various stages of manufacturing process. He provided practical knowledge to all students. Process of manufacturing is fully automated but at the end, quality check is done manually. It was an enlightening visit for the students visiting the Textile Mill and knowing about the real-world processes.

Alumni talk on 8th October, 2021

In order to keep the students motivated about their orientation towards their career, Department of Management in Collaboration with Alumni Association of Baba Farid College organized an Alumni talk for the students of BBA on 8th October, 2021.

The alumnus for the talk was Mr. Jaspreet Singh of Batch 2013-16 who is currently working as assistant manager in sales department of Just Dial. He came to lead the session to the current students of BBA to motivate, to understand the meaning of Life and its purpose. The whole session enthralled all students and gave motivation to do something in their life. He shared his whole life journey which started from BFGI and how he got placed during her MBA. He explained about Competition in Private sector and public sector by giving real life examples. He also focussed on the importance of Higher education in placements. He said that communication skills, experience and knowledge play a very important role to get good position in Organisation. He explained about various sectors opened for females and current trends in Business.

Finally, Ms. Pavneet Kaur, HOD (Department of Management) proposed a formal vote of thanks to the Mr. Jaspreet Singh and also gave him best wishes for all his future endeavors. In all, the event was quite a success.

Dance Competition on 04-Oct-2021

Department of Management in collaboration with Cultural club organised Dance Competition for the students of Baba Farid college on 04-Oct-2021. Students participating were supposed to follow all the rules and regulations. If any foul play was found, the participant would be immediately disqualified. The audience cheered for each and every performance, supporting them. There was a managing team appointed to take care of things. The managing team took care in enlisting the names of students who had registered as participants. Students exhibited their talents on stage. Ms. Ayushi Kamra was judge of the event. She remarked on the active participation of all the contestants and praised their talents. She congratulated the audience for patiently waiting till the end and for untiringly supporting the contestants. Ms. Veerpal Kaur student of M.A Won the competition. At the end, Ms. Neetu Singh (Dean Faculty of Management & Commerce) Congratulated all winners and participants. Overall, the Event was fruitful.

One day webinar on wealth awareness program on 6th September, 2021

Department of Management In collaboration with placement cell of Baba Farid college organised one day webinar on wealth awareness program on 6th September, 2021 for the students of BBA, B.COM & BTTM via platform of zoom. Mr. Sukhdeep Singh (placement executive) & Ms. Jashandeep Kaur (placement coordinator of BFC) welcomed Ms. Daksha Gogia.The lecture was delivered by Daksha Gogia. She is trainer for financial literacy & investor education at Board of Industry- Academia partnerships.

She pointed out that trading is the act or process of buying, selling or exchanging commodities, at either wholesale or retail, within a country or between countries. she also explained about primary & secondary market instruments, methods of online trading, investors grievance redressal online, consolidated account statements, Mutual funds.

She further added, technical analysis is a means of examining and predicting price movements in the financial markets, by using historical price charts and market statistics. It is based on the idea that if a trader can identify previous market patterns, they can form a fairly accurate prediction of future price trajectories. During the lecture she also solved queries of students related to the live trading. The session was very interactive and productive. At the end Ms. Pavneet Kaur gave vote of thanks to Ms. Daksha Gogia who really made the students aware of the practical implications in Financial Markets.

Online alumni meet on 30 July, 2021

Department of Management and Alumni association of Baba Farid College organized Online alumni meet on 30 July, 2021 on Microsoft teams. The event was registered and attended by more than 100 alumni of BBA from different parts of the world.

The program began with invocation by Ms. Jashandeep Kaur & Mr. Sandeep Sehgal. Mrs. Neetu Singh (Dean faculty of Management & commerce) welcomed the virtual gathering.  She expressed happiness on overwhelming response from the alumnus. Mrs. Pavneet KAUR (HOD) addressed the gathering highlighting the Department achievements, placements, and faculty and student strength
 A few videos depicting the features of Department of management and old photographs of alumni was played to refresh the memories of alumni. Each one of the alumni shared their memories and few games were conducted for them. Alumni participated with full zeal; guest performances also given by them.

The Presence of the Management, Faculty and students who attended the meet made the Event colourful. Everyone appreciated the efforts by the Baba Farid college in organizing the meet virtually for the first time. At the end Dr. Pardeep Kaura (Principal BFC) gave vote of thanks to students and shared some memories with them.

One Day webinar on Sampling for faculty on 29.04.2021

Department of management in association with R& D cell organised One day webinar on sampling for faculty online through platform of Microsoft Teams. In this webinar different ways of sampling were discussed with faculty.

The session was started with the warm welcome of resource person (Dorothy Dutta, Assistant professor, school of Business, Kaziranga university, Jorhat, Assam) by Ms. Navjot Kaur (Assistant professor, BFC). She explained main points regarding the sampling.

She enthralled light on elements of sampling, need of sampling and various methods of sampling. She explained in detail the sampling process and parameters that must keep in mind. She also described about essentials of sampling. Main focus was on the sampling methods. She explained every point about probability methods, non-probability methods and mixed method. She explained every concept by giving real life examples and also shared her personal experience of using this method.

Faculty members had many queries and they got their doubts cleared. In the end Ms. Navjot kaur presented vote of thanks to the expert. After that Dr. Pradeep Kaura (Principal of BFC) congratulated and appreciated the Department of Management and R &D cell for this wonderful initiative. On the whole, it was an interesting and very informative session.

Youthvibe on 07.04.2021

To order to infuse the enthusiasm among the students, Department of Tourism and the Department of Management of Baba Farid College organized 'Youthvibe' - A Virtual Cultural Fest via Microsoft Teams for the Students (+2 Arts) from Baba Farid Senior Secondary School on 07.04.2021. The guests for the event were Ms. Neetu Singh, Dean (Faculty of Management & Commerce), Miss Sonali Ghai, Head(Department of Management). 

The fest was hosted by Mr. Sourav Sharma (Assistant.Professor, Tourism) & Miss Bhawna Bansal (Assistant Professor, Management) with utmost enthusiasm.

The event got a tremendous response from the students as they sent their entries through mail for various online competitions that were Painting, Sketching, Photography & Dancing showcasing variety of talent in different forms 

As we are currently having testing times with the ongoing pandemic, but it didn't seem to have an impact on all the students who were eager to showcase their talent using such huge platform as this. Their energy & overwhelming response made it a huge success. 

The judgement of the event was done by Mr. Parampal Head (Department of Tourism) & Miss Amrit Taggar (Assistant Professor, English).

Mr. Parampal, Head (Department of Tourism) felicitated the students and he also encouraged them to participate more in the future. Ms. Neetu Singh admired the students' enthusiasm for the event and she also appreciated the organizers & hosts for pulling off a successful event.

Finally, Mr Parampal Singh & Miss Sonali Ghai, proposed a formal vote of thanks and congratulated the winners once again. On the whole, the event was a great success.

Expert talk on GST on 31 March 2021

With the motive to provide our students with an opportunity to enhance the knowledge, the Department of Management in association with school of skill development, Baba Farid College has organized Expert talk on GST online using the Microsoft Teams on 31 March 2021. The Session was addressed by Mr. Amit Goyal from Technoscape, Bathinda. The session was attended by all the students of BBA (All semesters) where they raised queries and got an idea about GST. While addressing the audience Mr. Amit Goyal explained in a very informative and simple manner the goods and service tax as an indirect tax under which uniform tax will be levied and all the goods and services, if the government passes this act then after 2017 a single uniform tax will be levied that abolishes other taxes like VAT, excise, service tax etc. Talking about the advantages of GST he quoted that's till now the central and state government could levy taxes as per the discretion and if earlier any interstate transaction happened then the states had to pay so many sorts of taxes that resulted into inflated value of goods and services. But with the application of GST the value of goods and services is bound to get reduced and the biggest benefit will be the enjoyed by the common man and now to acquire any good or service we need to pay for just one sort of tax in any part of the country and the value to be paid for the goods and services will be same anywhere and everywhere. At last, there was query session where students clarified their doubts.

The event was successful as all the students participated in the event with enthusiasm and interacted well with Mr. Amit Goyal over the online platform. The session was ended with vote of thanks to Mr. Amit Goyal by Head, and all faculty members

Fashion Show on 12.03.2021

Department of Management in collaboration with cultural club, Baba Farid College Organised Fashion show on 12.03.2021. Theme of the event was to represent different cultures of states. There were 3 rounds in fashion show. In all, more than 50 students participated in the event.

Event started with solo singing performance. Main attractions of the event were Mr. & Miss. fashionista. There were three Round of activity. In first round of modelling, students introduced themselves and in second round student showed their talent and in third round they were asked some mind twisting questions and some of them were able to tackle them very well. Alumni Talk II on 25th March 2021

Department of Management in collaboration with Alumni Association of Baba Farid College has organised an Alumni Talk II on 25th March 2021 using the online platform of Microsoft teams.

The alumni talk was addressed by Mr. Manpreet, alumnus of Batch 2013-16 of BFC, who is currently doing government job in Punjab Police Department at DGP Office, Punjab police Headquarters, Chandigarh. He came to lead the session to the current students of BBA on the topic of role of higher education in government job. The whole session enthralled all students and gave motivation to do something in their life. He explained the ways for personal development He has pointed out the importance of confidence and communication skills especially in the service sector. He also added on the benefits of various online courses available to enhance the student's skill with respect to finance stream. In the session speaker addressed the students regarding the industry expectations on their domain expertise. He explained the methods of cracking competitive exams. The skills required to be acquired by the students in the domain was conveyed to students. He threw light on the scope of streams that are available with MBA course.

At the last, there was query session where students clarified their doubts. The event was successful as all the students participated in the event with enthusiasm and interacted well with Mr. Manpreet. Alumni Interaction on 19th Feb 2021

With the noble motive to make our students gain an idea about real-time Entrepreneurship scenario and attain career guidance, the Department of Management in collaboration with Alumni Association of Baba Farid College has organised an Alumni Interaction on 19th Feb 2021.

The alumni talk was addressed by Mr. Vikrant, alumnus of Batch 2013-16 of BFC, who is currently pursuing Business in field of Tiles and sanitaryware. He came to lead the session to the current students of BBA to motivate, to understand the meaning of Life and its purpose. The whole session enthralled all students and gave motivation to do something in their life. He shared his whole life journey which started from BFGI and how he became entrepreneur by using some stories. He quoted that it was not possible to turn his dreams into reality without the guidance of his parents and all mentors. He has pointed out the importance of confidence and communication skills especially in the service sector. He also pointed out ways to activate leadership and participation. In the session speaker also interacted with students by asking about their career goals. He continued to share the about role of internship that helped him to transform personality and skills. Moreover, he suggested that journey towards success starts with coming out of our comfort zone.

The session has continued up to 1 hour. At the last, there was query session where students clarified their doubts. He concluded by saying that all students must be in action and focus on their prime goal to be career oriented. The event was successful as all the students participated in the event with enthusiasm and interacted well with Mr. Vikrant. With the motive to provide our students with an opportunity to enhance the knowledge and gain guidance, Skill development club & Department of Management, Baba Farid College had organized motivational Expert talk on Positive thinking online using the Microsoft Teams on 29th Jan 2021.The Session was addressed by Mr. Amit Goyal from Technoscape who is a Motivational Speaker. The session was attended by all the students of BBA (All semesters). Mr. Amit started the talk by describing positive and negative thinker. He also explained about conscious and unconscious mind, mind's limitless power. He quoted the importance of self-talk also. At the last there was query session where students clarified their doubts. Webinar on National Youth Day on 12th January, 2021

NSS Unit of Baba Farid College and Department of Management organized a Webinar on National Youth Day for the students of BBA on 12th January, 2021 through Microsoft Teams. This session was organized in order to enhance the knowledge of students regarding the importance of the day. This day was celebrated to mark the birthday of Swami Vivekananda.

The session was started with the warm welcome of the resource person (Sh. Narinder Kumar Bassi, Community Aids Educator Authorized by UNAIDS, State Awardee, UNAIDS Civil Society Awardee) by Ms. Sonali Ghai(Head, Department of Management). The keynote speaker started the session with imparting knowledge of principles of Swami Vivekananda. He told the students about the way how they could make life great by adopting and implementing the Swami ji's principles in their real life.

He said Swami ji as Youth Icon and discussed regarding the responsibilities of youth today. Also he motivated the students by giving various examples of Swami Vivekananda and threw light on the different stages/levels of human's life. He described vital points to the students such as sharing of happiness with others, help the needy people, avoid negative people, always speak truth and stand with the truth, contribution in the healthy life of family, society and nation, think before taking critical decision, follow rules and regulations in life, giving respect to elders and many more.

He also told that we should make our life like Swami ji, who was a friend of whole nation. Moreover, he said that we should achieve our life goals and make our whole life successful by doing regular activities. He also focused upon the importance of education, role of parents, youth power. At last, he again motivated the students by saying that we all should implement the principles of Swami Vivekananda in life to achieve a better place. Students asked many questions. In the end Ms. Sonali Ghai, (Head, Department of Management, BFCMT) presented vote of thanks to the resource person and appreciated all the students. On the whole, it was an inspirational and very informative session.

Best Out of Waste: Collage Making

Department of Management, Baba farid college organized an activity in the name of "Best out of waste: collage making" on 1st September, 2020 at through Microsoft Teams. Students of B.B.A participated in the same. Dr. Harjeet Kour, head of the department also motivated the students. Event coordinator started the event by explaining the rules in front of the students. Themes for the activity were being shared with the students through PPT. The participant were given two themes named COVID 19 & HEALTHY LIFESTYLE. Students were instructed to choose any one theme and make collage by making best use of waste. Students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. Ms. Sukhdeep Kaur, HOD of department of commerce judged the whole activity.

Poster Circulation on AIDS Awareness

Department of Management, Baba Farid college organized an activity in the name of "Poster circulation on AIDS Awareness" on 27 October, 2020 through Microsoft Teams. Students of B.B.A participated in the same. Ms. sonali Ghai, head of the department also motivated the students. Event coordinator Ms. Jashandeep Kaur started the event by explaining the rules in front of the students. Students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. Students represented their poster with small introduction about the posters. Ms. Paramjeet Kaur, AP of department of commerce judged the whole activity. At the end HOD mam gave her wishes to the winners and all the participants. Response of students was highly appreciable and they enjoyed during this activity. On the whole, the event was really a fun activity for the participants as well as the organizers.

NOVATO FIESTA (Virtual freshers party)

Department of management, commerce and tourism of Baba Farid College organised Novato Fiesta (virtual fresher Party) on 30 october 2020 through Microsoft teams for the freshers of BBA, B.COM and BTTM. Ms. Nayandeep kaur (AP in Commerce) and Ms. Jashandeep kaur (AP in Commerce) welcomed the freshers into BFGI family, the jury and other guests of honours were also introduced. Event started with solo singing performances by some of the best singers of BBA 1st year. Main attractions of the event were Mr. & Miss freshers. In first round of modelling, students introduced themselves and in second round judge asked some mind twisting questions and some of them were able to tackle them very well. Ms. Pavneet kaur, HOD of Department of commerce judged the modelling. Students tried some tongue twisters, which provided judge with sufficient time for deciding results. At the end, result of modelling declared.

Extempore Competition on 6th November, 2020

Department of Management in association with school of Skill Development, Baba Farid college organized an activity in the name of "Extempore Competition" on 6th November, 2020 at through Microsoft Teams. Students of B.B.A participated in the same. Event coordinator started the event by explaining the rules in front of the students. The objective of the competition was to make the students confident and better orators so that they can fearlessly express their views on any topic. The judge for the competition was Ms. Sonali Ghai. The participants delivered their speeches with great confidence and left no stone unturned to give in their best on the topics they got. They were asked to present their views in the time slot of 2 minutes. The judges found it very taxing to select the best three students from all the passionate participants. They were judged on the criteria of content, fluency, voice modulation and body language. The students showed great fervour and poise in their respective presentation. The competition concluded successfully with great words of encouragement and appreciation from Head of Department.

The alumnus for the talk was Miss Arshdeep Kaur of Batch 2018-20 who is currently working as senior academic counselor at Vedantu. She came to lead the session to the current students of BBA to motivate, to understand the meaning of Life and its purpose. The whole session enthralled all students and gave motivation to do something in their life. She shared her whole life journey which started from BFGI and how she got placed during her MBA. She quoted that it was not possible to turn her dreams into reality without determination. She also shared some tips about cracking interviews in corporate world. she has pointed out the importance of confidence and communication skills especially in the service sector. Department of Management, Baba Farid College organized an activity in the name of LOGO QUIZ through Microsoft Teams. Students of B.B.A 6th semester participated in this fun and Engaging activity.The logos were being shared with the students through PPT. The participant recognised the logos of various companies and told the tag lines of the same. Students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.

Alumni Interaction - 11th March 2020

Department of management, Baba Farid College organised an Alumni Interaction on 11th March 2020, Wednesday. It was an initiative by the Alumni of BFC in coordination with Ms. Bhawana Bansal, Assistant professor, Dept of management, so as the students can be motivated.

Mr. Himanshu Jatana, Manager Events & operations in RMZ Corp., an alumnus of BFC (2015-18 batch student of B.B.A), came to lead the session at 11.00 a.m. to the students who are currently pursuing their B.B.A. from the college. He interacted with the students to motivate and understand the meaning of life and its purpose. The whole session was very interactive which started with a story telling by him on how he started his whole journey from BFGI and how he became an event manager in such a reputed organisation. The students learned so many new things about career planning & success. He provided knowledge about career to students and helped students to solve their confusions regarding their goals. He also discussed with students the importance of internships & training. Main focus was to help the students to come out of the influence of Ielts. He quoted the importance of graduation. He also discussed about corona virus, its effects and precautions. He also quoted that it was not easy to turn his dreams into reality without guidance of his parents & mentors.

Besides this he also quoted that importance of general awareness in life is must for success. He concluded by saying that all students must focus on goals & do action accordingly. The students enjoyed the session very much as many funny stories and cases were discussed by him. The alumnus answered plenty of questions of the students related to their future as well as studies. At the end, the head of department presented vote of thanks for him and felicitated him with a token of love.

Department of management, Baba Farid College organised an Alumni Interaction on 12th February 2020, Wednesday. It was an initiative by the Alumni of BFC in coordination with Ms. Jashandeep kaur, Assistant professor, Dept of management, so as the students can be motivated.

The event witnessed Mr. Gursharanpreet singh, export manager in TRIDENT, an alumnus of BFC (2015-18 batch student of B.B.A) who came to lead the session at 10.30 a.m. to the students who are currently pursuing their B.B.A. from the college. He interacted with the students to motivate and understand the meaning of life and its purpose. The whole session enthralled all students and gave motivation to do something in their life. He shared his whole journey which started from BFGI and how he became an export manager in such a reputed organisation. Our students learned so many new things about career planning & success. He quoted that it was not easy to turn his dreams into reality without guidance of his parents & mentors. He quoted that interaction with teachers is a key to success and use of PPTs helped him to boost his confidence.

Squadra - 2019

Squadra 2019 on 30th October, 2019 in the main seminar hall. The event was based on "Retro Theme" (the days of 80s and 90s) and was sponsored by AONE bakers, Bathinda. There were 3 rounds in this event. First round consists of Retro walk in a team of 2 members. More than 50 teams from different colleges of BFGI were the part of first round. Second round was team talent round which gave 5 finalist teams. And the third round was a surprise Mental and Physical coordination activity based round. Along with these activities, a total 16 different talent based events like dance performances, singing, bhangra, acts etc. were also performed by different students. The winners were: Best Squad: Mr. Shubham Dwivedi BBA and Miss Prerna khungar from Bsc Best Performer : Arshdeep Singh from BCA.

Fun Games Event 2019

Management fun games Activity of BBA 2nd year Students Students of bba 3rd sem, Department of Management organized "fun games event" under their live project. A total of 40 students participated from BBA B.COM and BTTM There were 3 rounds in the games. The winnders were awarded by Dty HOD, BBA 2nd nd 3rd year dept, Dr. Harjeet kour. Mr. Kuldeep singh and Miss Rupanshu garg guided the students to manage the event effectively.

Dodge Ball

The students of BBA 5th sem organised an activity of Dodge ball tournament at BFGI level on 3rd October, 2019. An approximately 80 teams participated in the event comprising more than 400 participants from different courses like MBA, BBA, Bcom, BA, B. Sc.(CS) , B. Sc. (agri), B. Tech. etc and played the game. The tournament was inaugurated by Dean academics- Mgt & commerce, Ms. Neetu Singh; Dean Academics -Humanities, Mr. Deepinder singh; DSW- BFCMT, Mr. Parminder singh and Dty HOD- BBA 1st and BTTM, Mr. Parampal Singh.

Power Point Presentation Competition 2019

BFC, The departments of BBA 1st year and BTTM organised the Departmental activity ‘Power Point Presentation Competition on the Topic 'Social Media & Its Impacts'. There were total 11teams and three positions were declared as follows:-

ATHLETIC MEET 2018

‘ATHLETIC MEET 2018 -The importance of sports and games in college encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity. Increases in self-esteem and mental alertness make sports and games necessary for every college age child. Itenhances the students life skills like teamwork, leadership, patience.

Volleyball Shooting Tournament 2018

The students of BBA 4th semester organised a volleyball shooting Tournament of two days, many teams participated in this activity and it was grand event in BFGI campus. All management course students proved that their meticulous soul is equally interested in sports activity along with their study. The Principal of the organisation highly appreciated the efforts of the students who organised such activity in well mannerism way.

Live Project

Baba Farid College, A leading institute known as hub of excellence in terms of academic and non- academic achievements of students. The institute has been outperforming the Malwa region of Punjab with marvellous results as well as extracurricular activities since its inception and tried to redefine the process of learning with continuous efforts directed towards the development of students.
