Baba Farid Society of Science students organized one day activity for the students of BFC on 8th march 2019. In first round ‘ECRIT’, For this, teams were made consisting of two students and students were given MCQ related to GK, Basic science,Reasoning etc to respective teams.After first round teams were selected which  appeared in the second round.

In second round "THE SOTO” students were given bunch of pics”  to compose a story. After that the students  appeared in the final round "BUZER MANIA”. Pankaj  & Manish (B.Sc. NMI), Mantaar & Manoj (B.sc. NM II) were winners of this activity on the basis of their remarkable performance. At the end, the HOD, DSW(BFC) and the staff members of Science department distributed prizes to winners.  students were appreciated for their ideas and also given best wishes to come with innovative ideas to organize these type of activites.

Fresher party on 6, September, 2018

Department of Science organized fresher party on 6, September, 2018 in the seminar hall to the in fresherstudents of B.Sc.-I(N.M./CS) with great enthusiasm. This is to wish them a welcome for their course. Students participated in modeling and showed their talent by presenting various cultural items. Several games were organized and everyone enjoyed the party a lot. The occasion was graced by all the dignitaries of BFGI including Dr. PardeepKaura (Deputy Director Academics), Dr. B.D Sharma (Deputy Director Activities), Dr. Manish Bansal (Vice Principal BFC). Mr. and Ms. Fresher were awarded by the dignitaries. Tag of Miss Charming and Mr. Handsome was won by Miss Kulwinder Kaur & Mr. Akashdeep. Miss Alisha was crowned with the title of Miss Fresher and Mr. Gurbaksh Singh was awarded with the title of Mr. Fresher & Miss Deepti was awarded with the titel of Ms. Talented. Finally the program ended with an open dance, leaving behind sweet memories that will be cherished.

Internshala internship program by Neelkanth Sharma, B.Sc.(CS) 3rd(intershala ambassador), on 16-oct-2018, to the students of B.Sc.(NM/CS) 2nd year, he share information regarding internship program, trainings & earn while learn opportunities in 80K+ companies worldwide.

Alumni Interaction Session Content

Baba Farid College, Bathinda organized alumni interactive session by B.Sc Student Divya, she did her M.Sc. Mathematics from Panjab University in 2018 and cleared her UGC-NET in December 2017. She shared her personal experience in BFC and efforts done by Faculty of BFC for clearing entrance exam of M.Sc.Mathematics like JAM, Panjab University. She motivated students for higher studies (Masters) and then pursue UGC-NET, PhD. She prayed for their bright future.

Maths With Fun

Department of Science organised activity "Maths With Fun" for students of B.Sc (NM/CS) 2nd and 3rd year. In this activity student prepare live projects of Maths on the spot. There was 20 teams in this competition. In this activity students learnt about the basic concepts of Mathematics with the help of Projects and their demonstration. Activity was Judged by Dr W.S Brar, Mr Nariender Singla was also visited by Dr Manish Gupta, Dr Manish Bansal.

Selfie Summer Camp

Department of Science, Baba Farid College organized Selfie Summer Camp, a 4 day Free Workshop for the students of 10+2 Medical & Non-Medical. During this workshop the students got a hands on experience to make live projects of physics, chemistry & Biotechnology. The students also did a field work organized by Department of Agriculture. The students also learned through various fun activities organized by the department.The students were given certificate of completion on the last day of workshop.

Farewell Party on 26 April, 2018

Department of Science organized farewell party on 26 April, 2018 in the seminar hall to the outgoing students of B.Sc.-III(N.M./CS/MC) with great enthusiasm. This is to wish them a good luck for their future. Students participated in modeling and showed their talent by presenting various cultural items. Several games were organized and everyone enjoyed the party a lot. Ms. Navninder Dhillon, Ms. Pushpinder Kaur Virk and Ms. Keerti put questions to the students in Talent round and encouraged them. The occasion was graced by all the dignitaries of BFGI including Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal(Chairperson), Dr. Pardeep Kaura (Deputy Director Academics), Dr. B.D Sharma (Deputy Director Activities), Dr. Manish Bansal (Vice Principal BFC). Mr. and Ms. Farewell were awarded by the dignitaries. Tag of Miss Charming and Mr. Handsome was won by Miss Mandeep Kaur & Mr. Ramanjot Singh. Miss Bobby Thind was crowned with the title of Miss Farewell and Mr. Kuljeet Singh was awarded with the title of Mr. Farewell.

World Water Day

Baba Farid Society of Science students had organised an activity “Save water Save Earth” on 15th of March, 2018 on the eve of “World Water Day”. On this day following events were held (1) Collage making (2) Food without fire (3) Poster Making (4) Best out of Waste.

Students participated actively in this event. Winners were announced at last and honoured by distributing prizes.

Women’s Day

Physics and Science department had organised an activity on 7th of March, 2018 on the eve of “Women’s Day”. On this day following events were held (1) Poem Recitation (2) Elocution.

Students participated actively in this event. Winners were announced at last and honoured by distributing prizes by respected Principal, BFC.

Pi Day

Baba Farid Society of Science students organised an activity Math prates 2k18 on the eve of "p" day. It is observed on March 14 (3/14 in the month/day date format) since 3, 1 and 4 are the first three significant digits of mathematical constant pi. Demonstration of mathematics live projects in this activity are there. This type of activity meant to enrich and deepen students’ understanding about the concept of Mathematics in real life. Students demonstrate live projects of different concepts of Dynamics. They are very excited to know about daily life examples of Mathematics. Dr. Pardeep Kaura(Deputy Director academics, BFGI), Dr. Manish Bansal(Principal BFC), Dr. W. S. Brar(Dean Mathematics) and Ms. Shifali Goyal (Head of Mathematics Department) motivate the students to do this type of activities in future.

TARUPH

Department of Science organized an activity ‘TARUPH’ Three hour practical exposure, for the students of B.Sc. (NM/CS) Ist Year on 9th & 10th January 2018 at 2:00 pm in Physics and Chemistry Lab. The purpose of this is to aware students about the practical use of instruments and equipments in daily life. This activity accomplished successfully and students gave positive feedback for the same.

Ozone day Celebration

On dated 18-9-2017, the Department of Science celebrated ozone day. In this event Poster making, Photography and Speech were held. The students of B.Sc (NM & CS) and M.Sc(Physics) were participated in this event.

Fresher party of B.Sc. NM/CS. ‘NAVATO’

The 6th of September was marked as a memorable day in the life of every Fresher of B.Sc. NM/CS. ‘NAVATO’ party was organized by the Department of Science for the welcome of Freshers of B.Sc. NM/CS. All the arrangements and activities were organized by the students of B.Sc. NM/CS II themselves under the supervision of Faculty members. The party commenced at 10 a.m. in the Main Seminar Hall. The hall was nicely decorated by students. All the students were participating with great talent, excitement and zeal in the party. Party started with a welcome speech by students of B.Sc. NM/CS II to welcome their juniors as well as faculty present over there. Amazing dance performances, skits and songs were presented. Fabulous modeling and amusing fun games become the conspicuous highlights of the fresher’s party .Guest performance’s are given by the students of B.Sc. III Year. The highlight of the event was a competition for Mr. and Ms. Freshers. The occasion was graced by all the dignitaries of BFGI including Dr. Pardeep Kaura (Deputy Director Academics), Dr. B.D Sharma (Deputy Director Activities), Mrs. Ranbir Kaur (Dean Student Welfare), Dr. Manish Bansal (Vice Principal BFC). Mr. and Ms. Fresher’s were chosen by the judges and awarded by the dignitaries. Finally the program ended with an open dance, leaving behind sweet memories that will be cherished forever. All the students were quite happy. In this way, they had a lot of fun on this day. In brief, this party has been accomplished very nicely. The students enjoyed the DJ. The energy on the dance floor proved that the new batch with their level of enthusiasm will do great work in future. All were seen enjoying to their core, and as always demanding for more!!!

“Adieu Seniors 2017” Organized by Department of Science, Baba Farid College, Bathinda to Give Farewell to B.Sc(NM/CS/MCM) Outgoing Students (2014-17) on 8th June 2017

Science Department organized farewell party on June 8, 2017 in the seminar hall to the outgoing students of B.Sc-III(N.M./CS/MCM) with great enthusiasm. Several games were organized and everyone enjoyed the party a lot. Miss Sarvdeep Kaur put questions to the students in Talent round and encouraged them. During this party, Mr. H.L. Jasuja (Dean Sciences) and other faculty members wished good luck to students and appreciated the whole function. Different Tags were awarded to the students, tag of Miss beautiful and Mr. Handsome was won by Miss Harmanpreet Kaur & Mr. Sarabjot Singh, tag of Miss & Mr. Personality was won by Miss Himani Narulla & Mr. Chet Singh. Miss Rajvir Kaur was crowned with the title of Miss Farewell and Mr. Raminder Kumar was awarded with the title of Mr. Farewell. Finally the program ended with an open dance, leaving behind sweet memories that will be cherished.

SCIENCE CAMP’ 2017

Two Days “SCIENCE CAMP” was organized by Baba Farid College, Bathinda from 23nd -24th May, 2017. This camp was aimed to attract and retain a large number of students in basic sciences to promote research and innovation. While addressing the students Ms. Ranbir Kaur Brar (DSW, BFC) emphasized the fact that only that person can win who can find out its own talent and skills and use it in the best possible way. She emphasized on "Think of science as a career" science can induce change to us, our society, nation and humanity she added. She said “Science can give us tremendous amount of credibility and position to communicate and transact business”’.

This Camp included different programs like SeLfIE (Scientific Learning from intellectual Experiments), Math -rates and Life Science Workshop. During the camp the students were given the chance to have the hands on experience through the practical sessions in various labs of Physics, Chemistry and Biotechnology. In biotechnology labs students have learned the technique of “Bacterial isolation from teeth and hands” and “Blood group and Hemoglobin testing”. In chemistry lab they practiced the concept of organic synthesis and cold drink analysis. This camp was filled with Fun, Creativity and Learning. Activities like Math -rates aimed to facilitate self-learning through close interactions, Quiz, Puzzles, inquiry-based questions and in physics lab the learned “To find the height of an Inaccessible object using a sextant” and performed the live projects including “Mobile Detector and Home automation”. Students said that they have learned a lot in this camp and this camp will be very fruitful and beneficial for them in future. Dr. Manish Bansal (Vice-Principal, BFC) congratulated students and staff members for the successfulness of the camp and wished them good luck for their bright future.

Math pirates

Department of Science organised a Competition "Math pirates" for the students of Baba Farid College, Bathinda on 14th March, 2017 as Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant pi. This activity includes Mathdoku, puzzles, riddles and motivational videos from real world which are based on Math concepts. This type of activity meant to enrich and deepen students’ understanding about the concept of Mathematics in real life. Simranjeet Kaur (B.Sc NM III), Diksha Rani(B.Sc NM III), Rajwinder Kaur(B.Sc NM I), Manmeet Kaur(B.Sc NM I) were winners of “Math Quiz”. Neena Kaur(B.Sc NM III) and Gagandeep Singh(B.Sc NM I) were selected as winner of “Mathdoku” on the basis of their remarkable performance.

Poster Making Competition

On January 25, 2017 Baba Farid College, Bathinda organized an Extracurricular activity for Science Undergraduate Students which plays a vital role in the development of overall development of Students. Out of the classroom, activities help students to understand the importance of critical thinking skills, time management and intellectual competence. In order to provide them opportunity to display their innovative ideas, a Poster making Competition was organised. Students participated with immense zeal and enthusiasm and made very beautiful posters.The poster making broadened their imagination horizons, children positively enjoyed the colourful activity based competition.Their efforts and initiative was appreciated by everyone.All the posters made by participants were collected by organizing volunteers and result of the competition Hampreet Kaur, Shaminder Kaur, Vandana Kamboj got 1st,2nd,3rd positions respectively.

INSPIRE SCIENCE CAMP - 24-28 December, 2016

Five Day, INSPIRE Science Camp organized by Baba Farid College, Bathinda. This camp was 5 day residential camp being sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. A total of 156 students from 30 different schools of the region participated in this camp. The students had an excellent opportunity to interact with the Prof. (Dr.) Leland H. Hartwell (Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, Arizona State University (USA)) through video conferencing. The Science Camp was addressed by Eminent Professors and Scientists of National and International repute which include Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Kohli (Vice Chancellor, CUP, Panjab), Prof. (Dr.) Manpreet Singh Manna (Director, AICTE, New Delhi), Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Sharma (IIT, New Delhi), Prof. (Dr.) Arvind (IISER, Mohali), Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Dogra (IIT, Kanpur), Prof. (Dr.) K. K. Bhasin (Panjab University, Chandigarh), Prof. (Dr.) H. C. Taneja (Department Applied Mathematics, DTU, Delhi), Prof (Dr.) Adarsh Pal Vig. (GNDU, Amritsar), Dr. Rupinder Kaur (DAV College, Amritsar), S. Prem Singh (DST National Awardee). They motivated students to think out of the box and inspired them to take “science as there Career”. In this camp a platform was provided to students to interact with eminent scientists in various fields of sciences and get a deep insight into various career options available to them especially in science. The sessions helped them to know ‘SCIENCE’ in a better way as well as to develop scientific aptitude”.

During the camp the students were given the chance to have the hands on experience through the practical sessions in various labs of Physics, Chemistry, Agriculture and Biotechnology. In biotechnology labs students have learned the technique of isolating bacteria and staining them, they have also learned to test their blood groups and haemoglobin and in chemistry lab they practiced the concept of chemical plating. In addition to this students enjoyed the Science Fun games in the evening sessions including “Scinbola” (Science quiz) and “Winnovation” (Robotics Workshop).

“Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI acknowledged the efforts made by the organizing team in making the event a success and he said that these types of activities should be organized frequently in the BFGI campus.

Students said that they have learned a lot in this camp and this camp will be very fruitful and beneficial for them in future.

Fresher Fiesta

The 3rd  of Oct.,2016  was marked as a memorable day for all  freshers in Dept. of Science at Baba Farid College, Bathinda. The fresher’s day was a day that was filled with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter &  happiness. The theme of the party was “FRESHER FIESTA”the entire stage was well decorated .

The celebration started at sharp  10:00 a.m. It was a colorful occasion as all  freshers were dressed in their best attire. The program kick started with the introduction round & ramp walk for all contestants of Mr.& Miss Fresher. All the participants were well dressed ,conforming to the dress code & walked on the ramp in their own style. The participants who had been selected in the first round had to enter into second  round’ where the participants had to entertain all the audience with their best performances. In the mean time super cool seniors also put up various performances like dancing, singing, play & skits to entertain their juniors. Along with this there  was games(Musical Chair,Ballon Dance) played by teachers.

The honourable  Dr.  B.D. Sharma (Deputy Director Activities) & S. Harpal Singh were present to grace the occasion with their  benign  presence. Amongst all youngsters Mr. Ishan Singh & Ms. Gursharan  Kaur were awarded as  Mr. & Miss.  Fresher for their outstanding performances. The students then enjoyed an open dance. Finally the party came to an end with an open dance leaving a  lot of memories which will keep them cherished for a long time.

Teacher’s Day Celebration

On the Eve of Teachers Day Department of Mathematics (UG),organised a Competition  “BEST OUT OF WASTE” for the students of B.Sc. (NM/CS)-3rd year and theme of the Competition was based on Teaching Aid from waste material. Students participated with great enthusiasm. Students come up with amazing and innovative ideas and enjoyed a lot. All the faculty members were present there. Results were declared and winners for this competition as follows:-

Independence day Celebration

Independence day was celebrated in the Department of Mathematics(UG) on 12th August,2016. Students of B.Sc(NM/CS)-3rd year and B.Sc(MCM) participated in the event with great enthusiasm. Ms. Navjot Kaur, Co-coordinator of Cultural Activities and HOD(Ms Shifali), Dept. Of Mathematics (UG) were the Judges for the event. The results were declared and winners for Poster Making Competition were Arshdeep Kaur, Supriya Paul and Khushdeep Kaur.

BFSSS Activity

Department of Science Organised an Expert lecture and demonstration of experiments for students of 10+2 NM Class, BFSSS on 26 & 27 July, 2016. In this activity, Department of Mathematics prepared PPTs and gave their presentations on various topics of 10+2 class. Also in this activity, department demonstrated the experiments of physics and chemistry that are used in daily life and it is a part of their syllabus. In this activity, Dr W.S Brar, Mr. H L Jasuja shared their valuble knowledge with the students. HODs (Ms. Shifali (Maths), Mr. Harsimran (Chemistry), Ms. Sukhpinder Kaur(Physics) and their faculty participated in this. All students showed their interest with full participation.

Farewell Party of Science Department-Last La Faya

Science Department organized a farewell party LAST LA FAYA on May 10, 2016 in the main seminar hall where students of B. Sc-II(NM/CS/MCM) bid farewell to the outgoing students of B.Sc-III (NM/CS/MCM) with great enthusiasm. This is to wish them a good luck for their future.

The hall was nicely decorated. Farewell party was started with a welcome of of B.Sc-III (NM/CS/MCM) students by their juniors. All the students were participating with great zeal in the party. Party started with a welcome speech by students of of B. Sc-II(NM/CS/MCM) to welcome their seniors as well as all faculty present over there. Then students of of B. Sc-II(NM/CS/MCM) presented very entertaining group dance ,solo dance, solo songs ,play to entertain the audience.  Token of love and appreciation was given to the seniors by their juniors.

The Guest of honour were Dr. Gurmeet Singh  Dhaliwal (Chairman , BFGI), Dr. Pardeep Kaura (Deputy Director Academics, BFGI), Dr. W.S. Brar (Principal, BFC), Mr. B.D Sharma (Deputy Director Activities), Mrs. Ranbir Kaur Brar (Dean Student Welfare, BFC), Mr. Manish Bansal (Vice-Principal, BFC), S. Kulwinder Singh (Vice Principal, BFCE), Mr. Baljinder Singh(Principal, BFSSS), Mr. Sachin Dev (Officiating Principal, BFCMT), Er. Manish Bansal(Asst. Director Academics, BFCET), Mr. H.L Jasuja (Dean Sciences ,BFC). They enjoyed the function a lot, wished good luck to students and appreciated the whole function.

 The results were finally declared at the end of the program and from B.Sc-III( NM/CS) Miss Harpreet kaur was crowned with the title of Miss Farewell and Mr. Manpreet Singh was awarded with the title of Mr. Farewell. Also from B.Sc-III(MCM) Miss Kirandeep kaur was crowned with the title of Miss Farewell and Mr. Kamalpreet  Singh was awarded with the title of Mr. Farewell. They were awarded with a crown and a gift respectively by Mr. Baljinder Singh(Principal, BFSSS), Mrs. Sukhpinder Kaur (Co-ordinator, Science).  Finally the program ended with an open dance, leaving behind sweet memories that will be cherished. All the students were quite happy. In this way, they had a lot of fun on this day. In brief, this party has been accomplished very nicely. The students enjoyed the DJ. This whole function was a memorable event.

Celebration of Science Day

On February 26, 2016 Science Day was celebrated with immense passion by Science Department of Baba Farid College Bathinda. On the eve of Science Day, Declamation Competition was held among the students of Bsc. 1st Year. The session was commenced by Mr. Bishroop Dutta, who presented key note address on objectives of celebrating Science Day. Students were exhorted to participate in declamation competition. They took part in declamation competition with zeal and enthusiasm. They expressed their views on various topics such as “Green Chemistry, Good and Bad effects of Technology, Increasing Industrialization, Enviornmental pollution, Recent Discoveries in Science”, They enchanted the audience and spellbound them with their eloquency. Mr. Jitesh Khurana, Mr. Harsimran Singh, Ms. Jasmine Gupta were jury members who evaluated the performance of the participants. The first prize was clinched by Bobby Thind, second was won by Ramanjot Singh and third went in favour of Sukhwinder Kaur. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Ranbir Kaur Brar (DSW) and she motivated the students to take part in extra-curricular activities.

Fresher’s Party of Science Department-The imlxI

The Ist of Oct.,2015 was marked as a memorable day for all freshers in Dept. of Science at Baba Farid College,Bathinda.The fresher’s day was a day that was filled with excitement,joy ,music,enthusiasm,laughter & happiness.The theme of the party was “THE MILNI -WITH CUTE & INNOCENT JUNIORS”.As per the theme of the party the entire stage was decorated like a marriage party & it appears that there was actually a milni of juniors & seniors of Science Dept.

The celebration started at sharp of 10:00 a.m.It was a colourful occasion as all freshers were dressed in their best attire.The program kick started with the introduction round & ramp walk for all contestants of Mr.& Miss Fresher.All the participants were well dressed ,conforming to the dress code & walked on the ramp in their own style.The participants who had been selected in the first round had to enter into second round known as’ 60 seconds to fame’where the participants had to entertain all the audience for 60 seconds with their best performances.In the mean time super cool seniors also put up various performances like dancing,singing,play & skits to entertain their juniors.

The honourable Chairman Sir Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal was present to grace the occasion with his benigin presence.Amongst all youngsters Mr. Ramanjot Singh & Ms. Prabhjot Kaur were awarded as Mr. & Miss. Fresher for their outstanding performances.The students then enjoyed an open dance with Chairman Sir.Finally the party came to an end with an open dance leaving lot of memories which will keep them cherished for a long time.

Farewell Party of B.Sc "Frenzy Eve"

Science Department organized farewell party FRENZY EVE on March 6,2015 in the seminar hall where students of B.Sc-ii bid farewell to the outgoing students of B.Sc-iii with great enthusiasm.This is to wish them a good luck for their future.

Party started with a welcome speech by students of B.Sc-ii to welcome their seniors as well as all faculty present over there.Then students of B.Sc-ii presented very entertaining group dances,solo dances,solo songs to entertain the audience. Some exciting games were also arranged for the students of B.Sc-iii like paper dance,pastry eating,tongue twister etc. Token of love and appreciation was given to the students of B.Sc-iii by their juniors.

The Guest of honour were Dr. Nacchatar Singh (Director Academics),Dr.Pardeep Kaura(Deputy Director Academics),Dr. B.D Sharma(Deputy Director Activities),Ranbir Kaur(Dean Student Welfare),Mr. Manish Bansal (Vice-Principal BFC),Mr. H.L Jasuja (Dean Sciences).They enjoyed the function a lot and Dr. Nachattar Singh ,Director Academics BFGI wished good luck to students and appreciated the whole function.

Miss Navpreet Kaur was crowned with the title of Miss Farewell and Mr. Dilpreet Singh was awarded the title of Mr . Farewell. Finally the program ended with an open dance, leaving behind sweet memories that will be cherished.
